Keep Wales Tidy – a charity working across Wales to protect the environment for now and the future – can trace its origins back to the 1950s, when post-war pride in the UK led the way in tackling the ever-increasing problem of litter.
In the context of a spike in littering during the pandemic, and an understanding of how much a good environment matters to people – and its impact on health, well-being and the economy – the organisation tasked Thrive with developing a user-centric website designed to educate, inform, and compel people to act in looking after the local environment and their communities.
Through practical action, environmental education, training, business services and environmental initiatives across Wales, Keep Wales Tidy makes as hugely positive difference. And they couldn’t achieve their ambitions without the support of volunteers and communities.
The website focusses on a range of programmes and areas, from educating and informing young people to preventing waste and litter. With a range of resources, events and by promoting volunteering, the site makes it easy to get involved and helps people make a real difference.
Alongside this, the site promotes the great work Keep Wales Tidy does to help set the standards high for parks, beaches, marinas, and tourism in Wales, through a range of internationally accredited awards. Not to mention their work as globally recognised policy and research experts.
Of course, the website changes frequently, so it needed to be easily editable – and it is, in both English and Welsh, an area we’ve become quite experienced in at Thrive!
