We Are Staffordshire

A place marketing campaign to put Staffordshire back on the map.

The challenge

There’s no denying it, Staffordshire is an amazing and varied county. With rolling moorlands and high peaks, an industrial heritage and global reputation for a skills-base in manufacturing and innovation. Indeed some of the best known global brands have a base there – including JCB and Rolls Royce. And that’s not to mention its centres of excellence in education, Keele and Staffordshire Universities.

We Are Staffordshire’s remit is to champion the area, as a place to live, work and visit. To help achieve this, they needed to recruit local ambassadors – passionate advocates for the county. Key to that requirement was the development of a website, packed with information, resources and a dedicated area to support ambassadors. Which is where Thrive came in.

Illuminating insights

Get to the heart of Staffordshire and you quickly realise there’s something for everyone. Fantastic scenery, outstanding visitor attractions and some of the best places to live in the UK. There’s also huge business and investment potential, with one of the most highly skilled workforces in the country. And at the centre of all that there’s a whole heap of people who are absolutely passionate about what the region has to offer – and tapping into that was our goal.


Since our launch we’ve recruited over 70 inspirational Staffordshire Ambassadors – the website Thrive created has been instrumental in achieving that, through a dedicated sign-up and exclusive member area for our ambassadors.
